Carefully crafted in our workshop in the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region by master craftsmen, this bench was designed by Toulouse designer Pierre Dubourg, inspired by the traditional Catalan inns of his region.

Ostal, the Warm and Inviting Wooden Design Bench

Ostal is the Catalan translation of an inn, reminiscent of the traditional farm bench reimagined as contemporary furniture. This collection of wood and metal tables and benches immediately catches the eye with its authentic and warm aesthetic, while bringing a refined and distinctly modern style to your interior. The metal crosspiece contrasts with the natural wood to create a perfect balance between materials, giving the bench a timeless design that fits all styles of interiors, whether contemporary or traditional, while ensuring stability and comfort.

Ostal, the 100% French-Made Solid Wood Design Bench

The Ostal oak benches are crafted from solid wood in our workshop in Saulnot, in eastern France, using PEFC certified French wood sourced from local forests, with the exception of the crosspiece, made from steel tube. The solid oak seat has a generous thickness that provides strength and durability, while the profiled edges give it style, ergonomics, and an apparent lightness. The turned solid oak legs and traditional woodworking joints, such as the unique tenon-and-mortise joint leading to the legs, showcase the quality of craftsmanship of the Ostal bench, down to the assembly of the metal crosspiece that integrates perfectly into the wooden base. A Bench with a Metal Crosspiece in Your Chosen Color:

• Black, Patina "Gunmetal" Finish: This is the standard finish, visible in our photos, with a black patina applied by hand and protected with a special anti-rust oil for steel, followed by waxing. The patina offers beautiful variations in shades and is suitable for private use. However, we recommend a lacquer finish for professional settings (bars, restaurants, etc.) and salty environments (coastal areas) that could cause oxidation.

• Black or White, Lacquered: Thermoset lacquer at 200°C for unparalleled resistance. This finish is suitable for all uses, including high-traffic environments, and is perfectly suited for restaurants, inns, guesthouses, or other "contract" establishments. The extra cost is €42 per unit, but it decreases with quantity. Feel free to request a quote for your professional projects.

• Customized Color, Lacquered: Thermoset lacquer at 200°C for unparalleled resistance. This finish is suitable for all uses, including intensive use, and is perfectly suited for hospitality or restaurant settings to match your benches with your decor. Simply select this finishing option from the list and indicate the desired RAL reference in the comments when completing your order. The extra cost is €150 per unit, but it decreases with quantity. Which Length Should I Choose for My Wooden Design Bench?

We offer the Ostal bench in 4 standard sizes to fit both small spaces and large rooms:

• 120 cm Bench: A cozy small bench for 2 people
• 140 cm Bench: A comfortable 2-seat bench for 2 people
• 180 cm Bench: A 3-seat bench, ideal for 3 people
• 240 cm Bench: A large, convivial bench for 4 to 5 people
