The finish on the MéliMélo solid oak design table is handmade by our cabinetmakers.
The wood is carefully sanded with fine grain (180 grit paper) before being treated with Rubio® natural oil, containing 0% VOCs (volatile organic compounds).
This environmentally-friendly finish protects the wood over the long term while enhancing its natural grain.
It leaves the surface silky smooth and soft to the touch, while providing effective protection against stains and daily wear and tear.
The wood we use to make the MéliMélo table comes from sustainably managed forests (in Burgundy Franche-Comté). The oak we use to make our furniture has been PEFC-certified since 2012, this certification respects forest balance by considering environmental and social aspects. Our company and our supplies are audited every year by an independent organization to verify compliance with the certification standards:
License no.: PEFC/10-32-2633
Chain of custody no.: QUAL/12-716
Protecting the environment is a preventive approach that minimizes the product's impact on the planet. Our company manufactures all our furniture from A to Z in our Franche-Comté workshop:
- Raw materials: our cabinet-makers work exclusively with local PEFC-certified wood.
- Manufacturing: our craftsmen avoid making wood scraps, and if they do, we try to reuse them to make other objects. For example, the salad servers available in "Accessories".
- Transport: The team tries to group orders so as to make a single delivery. Our furniture can also be picked up in our workshop.
- Use: 100% Made in France and eco-designed with solid wood from Burgundy-Franche-Comté, this guarantees you furniture with unrivalled longevity and manufacturing quality.
- The finish of our Made in France furniture is refined with Rubio® natural vegetable oils (meets EN 71-3 toy standard for children's safety).
- End of furniture/recycling: The advantage of solid wood is that, once worn, you can sand off the damaged part. If the damage is more serious, don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
"We meticulously select the wood used in the manufacture of our furniture to guarantee :
- reduced indoor air pollution
- absence of hazardous substances.
- reduced VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions.
- formaldehyde-free wood glue.
- natural vegetable oil finish (toy standard EN 71-3 for children's safety).
Solid oak is easy to care for:
- Routine maintenance:
Simply clean with a damp sponge or cloth, or use Rubio ® interior soap.
- Occasional maintenance:
Heavy-duty surfaces can become dull over time, so use Rubio ® Refresh Eco Care Oil to restore the surface's silkiness and revive the oil's protection.
If a greasy substance has remained in contact with your furniture, a stain has certainly appeared. Use Rubio ® Degreasing Spray cleaner.
