The Ostal table combines wood and metal, embodying a balance between these two materials, between the craftsmanship of cabinetmaking and design. The tabletop, structure, and legs are made of solid oak, and the careful assembly work gives this table great durability and a unique visual signature. The metal footrest crossbar adds an industrial touch to the design. Like all Delavelle® furniture, this wood and metal table is 100% made in France, in our workshops located in Bourgogne Franche-Comté.

Ostal, the Contemporary Farm Table

The Toulouse-based designer Pierre Dubourg elegantly reinvents the spirit of traditional farm tables still often found in inns, hence the name "Ostal," which means "inn" in Catalan. This wood and metal table retains the welcoming and warm feel of old farm tables, while also incorporating a sleek and distinctly contemporary design. The metal footrest crossbar, both practical and aesthetic, adds an industrial touch to the design while ensuring stability and comfort. This combination of materials, blending authentic conviviality and refined modernity, gives the table a timeless design that fits into all styles of interiors, whether contemporary or traditional.

A Solid Oak and Metal Table Made in France

This table is entirely made of high-quality French solid oak, with the exception of the metal footrest crossbar, which is made from a steel tube. The entire piece is crafted in France, in our workshops located in Haute-Saône. The solid oak tabletop is generously thick, offering unmatched resistance and durability, while the profiled edges provide style, ergonomics, and an apparent lightness. The turned solid oak legs are slightly inclined to offer stability and give the table a reassuring appearance. The assembly is done using traditional cabinetmaking joints, such as the distinctive through tenon and mortise that connects the lower crossbar to the legs. The metal crossbar is joined by a precisely cut notch in the wood, a subtraction of the round shape of the tube in the lower crossbar – a detail that reflects the careful, unique, and discreet design and manufacturing process of this table.

This wood and metal table is available with 2 leg dimensions and 4 tabletop dimensions, offering 5 standard configurations that can accommodate between 4 and 10 people:
• 120 x 80 cm table: The small table for compact spaces, seating 4 people.
• 140 x 80 cm table: A dimension for smaller spaces, comfortably seating 4 people.
• 180 x 85 cm table with 120 cm legs: This configuration accommodates 6 people: 4 seats on the longer sides and 2 at the ends. It can fit 8 people if squeezed in.
• 180 x 85 cm table with 180 cm legs: This configuration seats 6 people: 3 seats on each of the 2 long sides.
• 240 x 90 cm table with 180 cm legs: A large table ideal for 8 people but can comfortably seat up to 10 people: 8 seats on the long sides and 2 at the ends.

The Footrest Crossbar in Metal in Your Choice of Color

• Gunmetal black: This is our standard finish (see photos above), a black patina applied by hand, protected by a special anti-rust steel oil and wax. The patina offers unique, living variations in color, and it’s suited for private use, though we advise against it for heavy use (bars, restaurants, etc.) or salty environments (coastal areas) that could cause oxidation.

• RAL 9005 black: Polyester powder-coated at 200°C for exceptional durability. This finish is ideal for all uses, even the most intensive, and is perfect for a restaurant, inn, guesthouse, or other "contract" establishments. The additional cost is €42 per unit, but it’s discounted for larger quantities. Feel free to request a quote for your professional projects.

• RAL 9003 white: Polyester powder-coated at 200°C for exceptional durability. This finish is ideal for all uses, even the most intensive, and is perfect for a restaurant, inn, guesthouse, or other "contract" establishments. The additional cost is €42 per unit, but it’s discounted for larger quantities. Feel free to request a quote for your professional projects.

• Custom color: Polyester powder-coated at 200°C for exceptional durability. This finish is ideal for all uses, even the most intensive, and is perfect for a restaurant, inn, guesthouse, or other "contract" establishments. Select this finish in the options list and provide the desired RAL reference when confirming your order. The additional cost is €150 per unit, but it’s discounted for larger quantities. We can create your custom tabletop with a width of 75 cm to 120 cm and a length of 120 cm to 260 cm while keeping the standard legs to minimize cost impact. If you need different dimensions, it’s almost limitless – our design office and cabinetmakers will review your custom table request. Like all our furniture, Ostal is delivered assembled but remains disassemblable to meet ecological and logistical challenges

In general, all our furniture is delivered assembled, as priority is given to quality, reflecting the cabinetmaking culture, which is far from the concerns of the flat-pack furniture manufacturer. The Ostal table is also delivered fully assembled but can be dismantled for easier storage and transport, and it also allows for changing or repairing any damaged components.

If your apartment is hard to access via a narrow hallway or staircase, feel free to let us know when placing your order, and we can ship your table disassembled. A simple key is required for assembly, but it is recommended to have two people with good physical condition, as carrying a solid oak tabletop upstairs is not an easy task!
